Dr. Qaisar Ali is Professor at Department of Civil Engineering, University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar, Pakistan. Now a days he is also working as Pro-Vice Chancellor of the UET Peshawer. He has played a key role first in establishing and then in expanding the first ever Earthquake Engineering Center of Pakistan. The center with the installation of a 6mx6m shake table, pseudo dynamic and base isolation testing facilities has now become one of the World\u2019s biggest research centers in the field of earthquake engineering.<\/p>

Dr. Qaisar Ali is consultant to various government and non-government national and international organizations on earthquake related issues. He is member of various professional bodies including a core group working on the Building Code of Pakistan. He is on the editorial list of several publications including the World Housing Encyclopedia, EERI, USA. He has developed several manuals on seismically safe construction for individuals involved in the construction industry.<\/p>

\u00a0His research interests are development of seismic risk maps for Pakistan, seismic code development for Pakistan, non-linear experimental and numerical studies of masonry structures, repair and strengthening of masonry and RC structures.\n\nHe has more than 40 research publications and has delivered numerous lectures at various forums around the world. He has received the best University Teacher Award for the year 2007.<\/p>
